A paper on pig farmers’ decision-making processes and nudges in classical swine fever control has been published!

In this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey of Japanese pig farmers to investigate the implementation of biosecurity measures and their perceptions of disease prevention against classical swine fever (CSF). Our analyses identified the factors influencing farmers’ decision-making regarding the implementation of biosecurity measures. The results showed that farmers’ risk perception, guidance from veterinarians, goal setting, and community-based initiatives all promoted the adoption of biosecurity measures. These findings are expected to contribute to the wider adoption of practical disease prevention measures on pig farms and to support the development of more effective animal disease control policies.
